Covers

NME covers tend to be very simplistic and focus only on a 3 or 4 major colour scheme, even though the '100 greatest British albums ever' appears to have a lot going on, if you look at it in depth there's 4 dominant colours, red, blue, white and black, the coulours of the Union Jack.

The first image shows JDB from Manic Street Preachers depicted as Che Guevara a major figure within the Cuban Revolution, as the story is about the Manics tour in Cuba. The sentence above the main line translates to 'Always towards victory' a famous qoute by Che Guevara. the bold red stands out as it's the most prominent colour, perhaps there may be too much red used but however that is how the original image is portrayed.

The Jim Morrison cover is the opposite, however the red still appears the most dominant colour. This image appears to be more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. I think i'll use this as my main inspiration when it comes to doing my own.

One thing that is the same throughout is that all the people involved in the pictures seem to be facing forward and not away from the camera, i will keep with this convention when it comes to doing my own.
